Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]. This draft has not been reviewed by a lawyer — get that review before relying on it with real users, particularly around the liability and billing sections below.

What FirePath is

FirePath is a portfolio tracker and FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) calculator. It projects retirement dates and models scenarios based on numbers you provide.

Not financial advice

FirePath is a planning and education tool, not financial, tax, or legal advice. Projections are estimates based on assumptions you control (expected returns, deposit amounts, tax rates) — they are not guarantees or predictions, and past performance (yours or the market's) does not guarantee future results. Decisions about your money are yours alone; consult a qualified professional before making them.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to use FirePath.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your password secure.
  • One account per person; don't share credentials.

Acceptable use

Don't use FirePath to:

  • Attempt to access another user's account or data.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the service.
  • Upload malicious files (including through the CSV import feature).
  • Use the service for anything illegal.

Plans and billing

FirePath offers a Free tier and a paid Pro tier. Pro features and pricing are shown at signup and in Settings. Where billing is handled by a third-party payment processor, their terms apply to the payment itself. You can cancel or downgrade at any time from Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.

Your data

You own the data you enter. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and how you can access, export, or delete it.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

FirePath is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for financial decisions made using this tool, or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from its use.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where required, notify you directly.
